Description

The second edition of Technical Communication is an all-inclusive textbook aimed at undergraduate students of engineering. It conforms to the syllabi of major institutes teaching courses such as communication skills, technical English, soft skills, and professional communication.

Adopting a functional and practical approach, the book presents an exhaustive treatment of the basics of technical communication, both oral and written. Divided into five parts, the text comprehensively covers listening, speaking, reading, and writing techniques as well as contemporary communication media. In addition to offering plenty of practical tips and attractive technical document samples, the book provides tremendous support for soft skills laboratory sessions through an accompanying DVD.

In this second edition, all the existing chapters have been revised and updated with more recent examples of almost all forms of technical communication. The contents have been reorganized based on user feedback to enhance the effectiveness of the four communication skills (LSRW). The book contains ten new chapters on various topics such as phonetics, vocabulary, and English grammar. Additionally, supplements to the text have been provided in the Students- Resource website.

With its up-to-date coverage and practical orientation, the book can also be used as a reference for corporate training programmes, in addition to benefitting students.
