About the Book :

Simply Fly is an autobiography of Captain G R Gopinath. This wonderful true story, which can easily give any Bollywood flick a run for their money, narrates the life of a village boy. Isn’t it out of this world to read the life and story of a boy who, in his childhood, used to ride bullock cart and went on to own an airline? This is a story of an army man turned businessman, who launched India’s first cheap airline – Air Deccan. This story recounts the unpleasant facts of a Captain Gopinath, who left Indian Army in late 1970s and started farming. A piece of land owned by him was flooded with rain water, and then he took the pains to turn that barren land into a fertile patch and sown the seeds of ecologically sustainable silkworms. The autobiography beautifully tells how a man’s passion, perseverance and strong willpower make him extraordinary from ordinary.
