Description

Indian National Congress is the greatest political party of India by virtue of having a glorious record of its role in the freedom struggle under the leadership of mahatma Gandhi followed by its equally significant role in the spheres of nation-building and state-building after the advent of independence in 1947 under the leadership of Nehru and his successors.

It is a liberal organization having full faith in the values of a democratic, secular and socialist system. It is a dynamic body that believes in change with continuity. Being a political party involved in the struggle for power, like other parties, sometimes it has to face ugly situations that bring a bad name to it. And yet its self-correcting mechanism saves it from an inevitable disintegration. It lacks the glory and the luster of the past; it has the grand vision of the future. By all means, it is the grand inquest of the nation and realization of the dream visualized by its great leaders depends on its sincere endeavours. Today its stands in the vanguard of the Indian people as the proceed to face the challenges that emerges in the new millennia and as they grasp the numerous opportunities that a changing world scenario offers to a people determined to take their legitimate place in the world.
